Bentley Mk VI
Chassis number B 217 LH
Delivered new by Rolls-Royce to their dealers Huet Motors, Dublin
in June 1951.
They in turn supplied it to Prof. J.F. Cunningham,
of
38. Fitzwilliam Square, Dublin.
In 1975 the car was sold to Dennis P. Nash who shipped it to his home in New Jersey, U.S.A.
Mr. Nash, being a motor engineer himself, rebuilt the engine and after it lying round in his garage, untouched, for a few years he sent it to the premises of car restorer Frick in Pennsylvania.who was to repaint the car.
Instruction to do the work were never given and eventually Mr. Frick bought the car intending to carry out the work for himself.
Whilst in the USA about 7 years ago visiting the RROC HQ, I was shown the car in Mr. Frick’s private garage. He had not started on it !
He finally moved it out of his home garage to his works a couple of months ago and took the above photograph.
The car has now been shipped back to Europe and is in my own garage in Blackpool, England.
I will show below some relevant papers concerning the car and more photographs, followed by more information about the condition etc.

This is a RHD 1951 Bentley Mk VI which was supplied new by Huet Motors to local a Dublin doctor. Chassis number is B 217 LH.
In the early 1970s he sold it to Dennis Nash in New Jersey, USA.
Mr. Nash used the car for about 15 years and being a motor man had the engine reconditioned, although I don’t know why ! He also removed all the upholstery, trim, woodwork, brightwork etc. I have a detailed photographic record of all this.
After that car was put back together some 12 or so years ago it was delivered to car restorer Dennis Frick near the RROC headquarters for stripping and re-painting.
Some of the panels, e.g. front wings etc were stripped and primed. Then the work stopped and Mr. Frick bought the car for himself.
He spent some time on it but was too busy to concentrate on it. I saw that car in his own home garage whilst on a visit to the USA some 8 years ago.
Recently I bought the car myself with a view to completing the restoration but have decided to retire and not bother.
The car is complete with both the large tools in the boot and the small tools including inspection lamp etc. There is a also a radio. The Rolls-Royce invoice shows that is has export type rear bumpers.
The car will need some body / metal work and a full respray.
I have plenty of correspondence etc relating to the car, a recent receipt for tax & duty paid, factory specification etc. The USA “ Certificate of Title “ issued in Pennsylvania in the name of Dennis Frick is with the car from whom I have a Bill of Sale.
The DVLA have assured me that since I have all this paperwork and the car is UK insured, they will issue a “ log book “ as soon as there is an M.O.T. test certificate.
The engine fires up immediately and sounds as it should, the engine bay is clean.
